Welcome! My name is  Clarissa Hastings, and I am a Christian therapist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a concentration in Chemistry and a Master of Arts in Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. I have been an elementary and a high school counselor for over 11 years and was a math and science teacher for 16 years.

I provide individual counseling to children, ages 7-11, and I enjoy working with their families to improve parent communication and family connections. When working with children, I use my art therapy certification and other professional strategies to help them work through painful experiences. I also work with adults and have many other certifications, including solutions-focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy for depression, grief therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, which I use to support their emotional and spiritual growth. I have worked with a crisis team and have been trained to participate in critical incidents. I was also trained as a Chaplain, so I have been effective working with family members who are grieving a major loss. I have many years of experience to help families work through difficult situations and to teach people to fill up their emotional toolboxes with healthy coping skills. My goal is to help children, adults, and families heal by creating a safe place to express feelings and develop healthy problem-solving skills.
