Each of us was created uniquely with a purpose and it is not only my passion; but my pleasure to join you in the journey of healing, empowerment and connection. I would like you to know that seeking support is a brave choice and I am so glad you are here!! My name is Danica Lawson, and I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate working with individuals (children, adults), couples and families. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of New Mexico. I obtained my Master’s in Marriage and Family therapy from Capella University.
As a therapist, I can be relatable with you and your situations due to the life experiences I have endured. It is important to me, to meet you where you/your family/child are; emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I can provide empathy, safety and space to begin pealing layers of life trauma’s, hardships, hurts, emotional distress to heal and grow new roots. I truly enjoy seeing the beauty and strength that is found within the therapy process. As individuals and families we can endure so much pain, hurts and failed expectations, that there still is hope and a light within us that can be found.
My experiences lie in the areas of attachment, trauma, anxiety depression, conflicts, blended families, and relational problems. I am passionate about working with all ages (0-99) and populations, including children, individual, adolescences, couples, and families. I have specialized training in play therapy, especially within the younger population (birth to 5) and neurodiverse, along with couple’s therapy. My hope is that through our therapeutic relationship, you can connect with yourself and others wholly. Therapy is a journey of discovery and encouragement of strengths healing layers of traumatic wounds in order to develop deeper connections; emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
I truly look forward to learning about you and working with you!
