My name is Jovita, though I prefer to go by “Joei.” I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being and personal growth of children, youth, and adolescents. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New Mexico Highlands University in 2020, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023. Committed to lifelong learning and providing comprehensive, inclusive care, I further expanded my professional training by earning certificates in School Counseling in 2023 and Rehabilitation Counseling in 2025.
I am passionate about working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and believe that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. My goal is to provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel safe to express themselves openly and authentically. I strive to build meaningful therapeutic relationships through empathy, active listening, compassion, and understanding, while supporting everyone on their unique journey toward healing and personal growth.
One of my favorite therapeutic approaches is incorporating Art Therapy techniques to encourage creativity, self-expression, and emotional exploration. I recognize that healing looks different for everyone, and I enjoy helping clients discover healthy ways to communicate their thoughts and feelings while building confidence, resilience, and hope. My greatest reward is making a positive impact on the lives of those I serve by empowering them to recognize their strengths and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy expressing my own creativity through painting, drawing, photography, and artistic coloring. I also value staying active by running and walking, activities that help me maintain balance and mindfulness. These personal interests reflect my belief that creativity, movement, and self-care are important components of overall mental wellness.
