Who Will Walk with You in the End? When the wind has finished blowing and the sun has ceased to shine, who will walk with you in the end? What light have you brought into this world—light that pierces through the dark places of the earth and brings justice? Or have we only settled for “just us”?
For me, walking through life with someone is more than just a job; it is a calling—one that gives meaning to dry bones and wakes us from our slumber. What does it truly mean to care for others, to breathe new hope into a life drowning in hopelessness?
Too often, we act as though it is just us—alone, forgotten—because we have ingrained ourselves in a seedless society, one where justice no longer takes root. So many times, we really do believe it is just us. But are we truly powerless against the chains of this world? Or are we the very ones who forged them?
We walk and talk as though the power of the tongue does not cut in all directions—as if sound did not give way to speech, speech to life, and life to fear. But why not be fearless? Why not break the chains of these norms—norms we have planted so deeply within our lives, our practices, and our very being?
Many of us are already prisoners—not behind bars, but within the walls of our own minds. We allow fear to close in on us, eating away at the life still left to live. But hear this: we must wake up from these prisons of choice.
Your life is worthy of being walked alongside. Even when words cut deep, remember—they are the same words that have breathed life into you on the days you chose to open your eyes from the darkness and step into truth. A meaningful life. A life worthy of love and honor.
So, I ask you today: open your eyes from your slumber. Live a full life—rich, even without plates to eat on; full, even without chairs to sit on. Because your fullness is not dependent on what you see—it is dependent on who you are.
Today is your time to awaken the day as if you have spoken it into existence—because you are worthy and you are Chosen by God. Loved. And most of all, valued.
Be blessed.
